اللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى الْأَنفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا وَالَّتِي لَمْ تَمُتْ فِي مَنَامِهَا فَيُمْسِكُ الَّتِي قَضَى عَلَيْهَا الْمَوْتَ وَيُرْسِلُ الْأُخْرَى إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

Allahu yatawaffa alanfusa heena mawtiha wa(a)llatee lam tamut fee manamiha fayumsiku allatee qada AAalayha almawta wayursilu alokhra ila ajalin musamman inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yatafakkaroon(a)

Allah^-SWT it is Who takes away the souls at the time of their death and those who do not die in their sleep; then He^-SWT withholds those on whom He^-SWT has decreed death, and sends back the rest for an appointed term. Verily herein are Signs for those who ponder.

(39:42)

أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ شُفَعَاء قُلْ أَوَلَوْ كَانُوا لَا يَمْلِكُونَ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ

Ami ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi shufaAAaa qul awalaw kanoo la yamlikoona shayan wala yaAAqiloon(a)

Have they taken others for intercessors besides Allaah^-SWT ? Say you^-SW  : What! Even though they own not anything and understand not?

(39:43)

قُل لِّلَّهِ الشَّفَاعَةُ جَمِيعًا لَّهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ

Qul lillahi a(l)shshafaAAatu jameeAAan lahu mulku a(l)ssamawati wa(a)lardi thumma ilayhi turjaAAoon(a)

Say you^-SW: Allah^-SWT's is intercession altogether. His^-SWT is the dominion of the heavens and the earth; then to Him^-SWT you shall be returned.

(39:44)

وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ اشْمَأَزَّتْ قُلُوبُ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ الَّذِينَ مِن دُونِهِ إِذَا هُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ

Waitha thukira Allahu wahdahu ishmaazzat quloobu allatheena la yuminoona bi(a)lakhirati waitha thukira allatheena min doonihi itha hum yastabshiroon(a)

When mention is made of Allaah^-SWT alone, the hearts of those who believe not in the Hereafter shrink with aversion; and when mention is made of those besides Him^-SWT , lo! They rejoice

(39:45)

قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ فَاطِرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ أَنتَ تَحْكُمُ بَيْنَ عِبَادِكَ فِي مَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ

Quli allahumma fatira a(l)ssamawati wa(a)lardi AAalima alghaybi wa(al)shshahadati anta tahkumu bayna AAibadika fee ma kanoo feehi yakhtalifoon(a)

Say you^-SW  : Allaah^-SWT ! Creator of the heavens and the earth! Knower of the hidden and the open! You-SWT shall judge between them concerning what they have been differing in.

(39:46)

وَلَوْ أَنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا وَمِثْلَهُ مَعَهُ لَافْتَدَوْا بِهِ مِن سُوءِ الْعَذَابِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَبَدَا لَهُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يَكُونُوا يَحْتَسِبُونَ

Walaw anna lillatheena thalamoo ma fee alardi jameeAAan wamithlahu maAAahu la(i)ftadaw bihi min sooi alAAathabi yawma alqiyamati wabada lahum mina Allahi ma lam yakoonoo yahtasiboon(a)

And were the ungodly to own all that is on the earth, and with it as much again, they will seek surely to ransom therewith from tile torment of the Day of Judgement, and there will become apparent to them from Allaah^-SWT what they had not been reckoning.

(39:47)

وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُون

Wabada lahum sayyiatu ma kasaboo wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzioon(a)

And there will become apparent to them the evils they earned, and there will surround them what they had been mocking at.

(39:48)

فَإِذَا مَسَّ الْإِنسَانَ ضُرٌّ دَعَانَا ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلْنَاهُ نِعْمَةً مِّنَّا قَالَ إِنَّمَا أُوتِيتُهُ عَلَى عِلْمٍ بَلْ هِيَ فِتْنَةٌ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

Faitha massa alinsana durrun daAAana thumma itha khawwalnahu niAAmatan minna qala innama ooteetuhu AAala AAilmin bal hiya fitnatun walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoon(a)

When hurt touches a man he calls on Us^-SWT , then when We^-SWT have changed it into a favour from Us^-SWT , he says: I have obtained it by force of my knowledge. Aye! It is a trial, but most of them know not.

(39:49)

قَدْ قَالَهَا الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ

Qad qalaha allatheena min qablihim fama aghna AAanhum ma kanoo yaksiboon(a)

Surely said it those before them, yet there did not avail them what they have been earning.

(39:50)

فَأَصَابَهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا وَالَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْ هَؤُلَاء سَيُصِيبُهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا وَمَا هُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ

Faasabahum sayyiatu ma kasaboo wa(a)llatheena thalamoo min haolai sayuseebuhum sayyiatu ma kasaboo wama hum bimuAAjizeen(a)

And there befell them the evils of what they had earned. And of them they who go wrong presently will befall them the evil of what they earn; nor can they frustrate.

(39:51)

أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَاء وَيَقْدِرُ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ

Awalam yaAAlamoo anna Allaha yabsutu a(l)rrizqa liman yashao wayaqdiru inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yuminoon(a)

Do they not know that Allaah^-SWT expands provision for whom he will, and stints it for whom He^-SWT will? Verily herein are Signs for them who believe.

(39:52)
